12. Tunisia
It seems that hardly a shot is fired in anger in the Middle East and North Africa that does not involve ISIS. It all started in 2015 with the Sousse Attacks, but soon ISIS’ activities went well beyond sporadic suicide bombings and reached armed insurgency levels. This became a war for territory between ISIS and the Tunisian Armed Forces by 2016, claiming the lives of over 80 ISIS fighters and 34 Tunisian soldiers so far.
