First of all, we have to tell you one thing – taking care of your beauty should always be fun. If it is not, then you are doing something wrong!
Tip No. 1 – When it’s summer, try avoiding makeup
During those hot months when the outside temperature is very high and your skin struggles to breathe, it is quite damaging to cover it with much makeup. If you, for some reason, cannot go out without a foundation, at least use just a bit of it. Your skin will be thankful and you will also feel better.
Tip No. 2 – Don’t forget about your feet
This is to be underlined during summer months. Your feet could also get sunburns, so always apply some sunscreen on them ( minimum SPF 50). And in winter months, don’t forget to take care of those cracked heels. Use file after having a shower and also put some nourishing cream on them. It is true that no one can see them in winter except yourself, but when warm months come, it will be much easier to treat them if they were constantly taken care of.
Tip No. 3 – Don’t ignore those pimples
The moment you notice a pimple, treat it with a bit of tea tree oil, lemon juice, or garlic. On the other hand, a cube of ice could also help. Put it in a piece of cloth and gently press it over the pimple for a few seconds, wait a bit, and repeat the process. Do this as much as necessary for the redness to disappear.
Tip No. 4 – Acne stop!
To get rid of acnes, find a cleanser with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. They will help you a lot. But first of all, you should never press it! It will just push the bacteria and dirt deep into the skin so it will become even worse. What’s more, pressing on to the skin will prevent acne from clearing up as fast as possible. It could even leave a scar, which, of course, no girl wants!
Tip No. 5 – All-day protection doesn’t exist
When you hear about some sunscreen which provides an all-day protection and water resistance, don’t buy it! It is never a good sunscreen! You should reapply all sunscreens at least every 2-3 hours. Don’t rely on it if applied less often.
Tip No. 6 – Beware when having some allergies!
Those elements of allergy medicines called antihistamines tend to dry out the skin, so you shouldn’t apply heavy foundation during allergy season. Instead, you could use a tinted moisturizer. Have you ever used some of those?
Tip No. 7 – Don’t be lazy!
You should always wash off all the makeup before going to sleep. Even if you don’t have any makeup, you should still wash your face with fresh water and put some tonic on your face. Don’t be lazy about this, because when your face is dirty in the evening, it will be full of zits in the morning. Just think how awful that is!
You could also use some exfoliator to get rid of dead skin, but no more than 2-3 times a week! Otherwise, your skin would become dry.
Tip No. 8 – Take care of your makeup brushes
Clean your brushes often so that bacteria don’t develop on them and avoid potential breakouts! You should clean them at least once a week with a mixture of water and soap.
Tip No. 9 – Don’t use the same products
You should pay attention to the season of the year you live in. In spring, your skin probably needs less coverage, so the heavy, winter products should be changed for lighter ones. And there is always this rule saying: ‘Less is more!’’ Pay special attention to the real necessity for a specific product – is it really necessary for you to put all that amount of makeup on your face? Take a closer look at the mirror and get an honest assessment of how you really look like.
Tip No. 10 –Avoid alcohol – based facial products
These kinds of products, especially toners, will only dry out your skin. You could use them if your skin has pimples and is oily, but not every day, and not without the recommendation of a dermatologist.
Tip No. 11 – Protect your skin in winter
During the cold winter months, you should always use creams that serve as a protection against the wind and low temperatures. You should not use them just before you go out, but after you take a shower! Then, the skin is clean and de-oiled and it will absorb all the necessary ingredients. You should also use a cream or milk cleanser to wash your face in the evening since creams are less drying than soap.
