Johnny Carson – Navy

Before becoming a television host and a comedian, Johnny Carson first joined the United States Navy in 1943. He started off as an apprentice shipman and was eventually promoted to a midshipman. He was assigned to the USS Pennsylvania in the Pacific Ocean. He then served as a communications officer in charge of decoding encrypted messages, while entertaining fellow soldiers with his comedy.
