Twiggy, Born in 1949- The Boy Friend

Dame Lesley Lawson is widely known as Twiggy for her thin body structure. She is an English model, actress, and singer, considered beautiful with big eyes, long eyelashes, and short hair despite having an androgynous appearance. In 1966 Twiggy was named “The Face of 1966” by Daily Express, and following the same year, she was voted as British Woman of the Year.

Later in 1967, Twiggy was a successful model in France, Japan, and the U.S.A. for Vogue and The Tatler’s covers. Also, by 1971, her performance in Boy Friend, she took home two Golden Globe Awards. Currently, Twiggy and her husband, Leigh Lawson, reside in London.

Julie Goodyear, Born in 1942 – Coronation Street

Julie Goodyear is a British actress who rose to prominence on Coronation Street as the brassy Rovers Return Inn barmaid-turned-landlady Bet Gilroy, née Lynch. She has made numerous television appearances, including roles in Nearest and Dearest and Hollyoaks episodes.

Julie received the MBE in 1996 and the Lifetime Achievement award in 1995 at the inaugural National Television Awards. Apart from Coronation Street, she has acted in pantomimes, advertisements. Her autobiography, ‘Just Julie’, was published in 2006 and became a best-seller. Furthermore, she was a contestant on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2012, and also participated in an episode of The Big Soap Quiz: Corrie vs. Emmerdale in 2018.

Kim Novak, Born in 1933- Vertigo

Marilyn Pauline Kim Novak, famous by name Kim Novak is a known actress from the mid-50s. She started her career in 1954 with notable works such as Picnic,& Pal Joey. However, her prominence rose with her performance in the thriller movie Vertigo, which was a box office hit. Kim worked in Liebestraum, which was a total disappointment, and she retired from the industry immediately.

Having no wish to return to acting, she has been honored with two Golden Globe Awards, the Honorary Golden Bear Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This gorgeous actress works as a painter and visual artist after she retired from the industry.

Tina Lousie, Born in 1934- God’s Little Acre

Tina Lousie began her career on stage in the 50s before she started acting in films. She is best known for her role in the sitcom Gilligan’s Island. Although Tina got her breakthrough from God’s Little Acre, she took home a Golden Globe Award for a New Star of the Year.

Further, Tina has worked in other notable films The Trap, The Hangman, The Happy Ending, and The Stepford Wives. Tina became the last surviving cast member of Gilligan’s Island after the death of Dawn Wells. Apart from a career in acting, she was a well-known singer as well. Loni Anderson, Born in 1945- Cincinnati 

Loni Anderson is a prominent face of Hollywood who is best known for her work in Cincinnati. For which she took home three Golden Globe Awards. Her film debut had a minor role in Nevada Smith in 1966. Also Anderson was seen in the sitcom Phyllis.

Anderson received multiple awards for her work as a comedian in the T.V. movie White Hot: The Mysterious Murder of Thelma Todd. Anderson has been married four times and has two children. Loni’s parents were from World War II, who both smoked, and due to that, she witnessed the effects of C.O.P.D., a lung disease caused by smoking.

Julie McKenzie, Born in 1941 – Marple

Julia Kathleen Nancy McKenzie is a well-known English actress, singer, presenter, and theatre director. On television, McKenzie is known for her BAFTA Award nomination for Hester Fields in the sitcom ‘Fresh Fields’ and its sequel and also as Miss Marple in Agatha Christie’s Marple. She also recorded an audiobook of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Through the Looking Glass.’

McKenzie appeared in a National Theatre 80th birthday tribute to Lord Oliver, ‘Happy Birthday, Sir Larry’, on 31 May 1987 in the presence of Olivier himself. McKenzie was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the 2018 New Year Honors for services to drama.

Sir Thomas Hicks, popularly known as Tommy Steele, is an English entertainer who is widely recognized as Britain’s first teen idol and rock and roll star. The Tommy Steele Story (1957) was a film adaptation of this 85 year old celeb’s rise to fame, with the soundtrack becoming the first British album to reach number one on the UK Albums Chart.

Steele was one of the biggest cultural icons chosen by pop artist Sir Peter Blake to appear in “Vintage Blake,” which was an iconic montage to commemorate Blake’s 80th birthday. All these achievements established him as a star with a long and successful film and stage professional career.

Tony Bennett, Born in 1926 – Because of You

It is possible to trace the history and longevity of vocal pop and jazz in the twentieth century through Tony Bennett’s lengthy and amazing career. He made his musical debut In 1951 with the hit song titled Because of You which proved to become a national breakthrough.

With records like The Beat of My Heart and Basie Swings, he reached his artistic pinnacle in the late 1950s. Bennett’s hallmark song, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, was recorded in 1962, which instantly accelerated his fame to another level. Pat Boone is a legendary singer, composer, actor, and advocate from the United States. During the 1950s and early 1960s, he was the most popular pop singer in America. He had 38 top 40 singles, including six number one records, and sold over 45 million albums. Boone also appeared in more than 15 Hollywood movies.

He debuted on Republic Records in 1954, followed by his Dot Records debut Two Hearts, Two Kisses a year later. With a cover of Ain’t That a Shame, he scored his first No. 1 hit and rose to notoriety. Boone maintained his Christian convictions throughout his career, stating that he would only star in moral, uplifting films.

Penny Smith started her journalism career in 1977 as a reporter and feature writer for the Peterborough Evening Telegraph. She departed after four years to travel through Central Radio Television Hong Kong, where she reported and presented on a current affairs program.

Penny started her career as a reporter for Radio Trent in 1984 and then worked for Central Television as a press officer for documentaries and drama. Next, she covered the BBC Radio 2 Friday Night Arts Show. Until February 2021, she hosted the weekend breakfast show. Lately, Penny began hosting the weekday drivetime show on Scala Radio in March 2021.

Agnetha started singing in a dance band called Bernt Enghardts. After that, Agnetha was mainly occupied by her work with ABBA. During this period, she also released her Swedish-language solo album Elva kvinnor I ett hus. Over time, Agnetha became romantically involved with Björn Ulvaeus and got married. The pair staged a cabaret show with Björn’s songwriter partner, Benny Andersson, and his fiancée, Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

Born in Bjørkåsen to a Norwegian mother and a German father, Anni-Frid Lyngstad grew up in Torshalla and started her first solo career as a jazz singer through a talent competition called New Faces. She won the competition with her song, En ledig dag. Although Lyngstad had moderate success in Sweden, as she was a contestant for Melodifestivalen with her song Härlig är vår jord, she did not reach international fame until she joined ABBA.

Anni-Frid married Ragnar Fredriksson, with whom she had two children; however, they soon separated. Lyngstad lives in Switzerland, sharing a home with her British partner, Henry Smith.

Steven Seagal was born in Lansing, Michigan, now an actor, screenwriter, producer, and martial artist. He is a 7th dan black belt in aikido and began his adult life as a martial arts teacher in Japan. Soon Seagel moved to California to pursue the same profession for a broad audience.

By 1988 he set his foot in the acting industry and starred in the film Above the Law. Following the year, Seagel starred in four other successful films.
