Veronica Hamel, Born in 1943 – Hill Street Blues
Hamel, the daughter of a Philadelphia carpenter and a housewife, is a Temple University graduate. She worked for a company that made ironing board covers as a secretary. After being discovered by Eileen Ford, Veronica began a modeling career. In 1971’s Klute, she played a model in her debut film appearance.
In 1975, she made her first television appearance. She also participated in the legal drama Philly, created by Hill Street Blues writer Steven Bochco in 2002. Hamel had a recurring role on the NBC television series Third Watch in the late 2000s, and she played Margo Shephard, Jack’s mother, in the ABC series Lost.
