Ready Set and Gil

Gil Elvgreen is an artist who did not specifically make art but was more recognized for his creativity in making pin-up posters. This glamorous illustration was one of many of Gil’s creations that received applause from around the world. He could paint girls in everyday life situations and make them look ravishing in a way no one could.

We can not presume whether or not these pin-up posters would have worked today, but in the 1930s and 40s, it was a booming trend. The painting looks like imagination as it should be, but the girl being a girl, seems utterly ready for a click.
